Meet the Staff!!! Part 7

Hello FTF Office fans!! I know you all have been eagerly anticipating the next installment of our "Meet the Staff!!!" series. Hopefully you've been checking out Dudley the Spoonbill's blog in the meantime where you can find some cool pictures of our recent environmental shows and even a picture from the Miami Herald of our Trash Monster!

OK folks, now the moment you've all been waiting for: Let's meet our Marketing Director and the guy who takes most of the pictures for FTF, Rick Troutner!

Hello all! My name is Richard but you can call me Rick. My job at FTF is to make sure all of our loyal fans know about our shows. From faxes, to emails, to flyers; I make sure the proper material is sent out, thus ensuring that our productions are known about. I also help out with the support materials for grants, which means I put together all of the great pictures from FTF events into eye-catching spreads. I must go now and get back to spreading the word about all things FTF! But before I go, here's a glimpse of one of the flyers I made up for FTF.

Meet the Staff!!! Part 6

I'm on a roll FTF fans! This is the FTF Office Guru back again to introduce another key member of the Fantasy Theatre Factory office staff. Get ready to meet our hard-working production manager, Larry Fields!

My name is Larry Fields, I'm the production manager for FTF and one of our main actors and teachers. I spend my days at work, making schedules, answering phones, dancing the chicken dance, making copies, helping to write scripts, wearing wigs, teaching classes, helping to write grants, writing emails, singing songs by Justin Beiber and Hannah Montanna, making sure we have all our technical supplies for our shows, setting up sets, pretending to be a spooky tree, ordering supplies, making props, juggling painting sets, researching show ideas, doing magic, and more. As you can see, I have a very serious job, with no silliness at all.

Meet the Staff!!! Part 5

Hey there FTF fans! I hope you don't think I have forgotten you! This Guru has had a lot to do here at FTF but I think it is time for you to hear about one of the most important members of the FTF team. This awesome lady's name is Mimi Schultz!
WoW! What is my job? Seems like...just about...everything! I research, select and direct the shows that Fantasy Threatre produces. That means I get to have fun watching the actors in rehearsals. As Artistic Director, I make suggestions to the actors to help them interpret their acting roles. My job is to help them become better actors and to help the show look like the professional company that we are. I'm lucky because our actors are very talented and hard working. That doesn't mean it's easy for them - they just work that much harder!

My other jobs include grant writing, thinking up new programs for Fantasy Theatre and even sewing costumes - when needed! I do whatever the company needs me to do to put on a great show for you - our audience!

Meet the Staff!!! Part 4

Wow! It's busy, busy, busy here at the FTF Office! Whether it's writing grants, making costumes, taking care of budgets or even singing Hannah Montana songs to test equipment, everyone is keeping very busy to make sure that no area of Fantasy Theatre Factory is neglected. Sadly, I haven't done a very good job of keeping you fantastic FTF followers posted! Never fear! The FTF Office Guru is here to tell you about another member of the FTF Team! Get ready to meet one of our interns, Shalencia!

Hi FTF lovers! My name is Shalencia Thompson and I'm the office manager intern for FTF. I started working at FTF on June 1st so I'm currently still learning the ins and outs of FTF. However, one thing I've learned is that no one at this FTF office has a single job that they do all day. While we all have jobs that are specific to our job titles, we're all doing a multitude of things to keep FTF up and running for great fans like you. For example, although my job involved mainly making sure things are kept in order at FTF's office and rehearsal spaces, I also assist with grant-writing tasks and preparing accounting statements. I also got to be a part several little "photo shoots" for FTF's advertising efforts starting on my second week of work at the office. This type of variety in my daily activities makes me optimistic that not only will I be able to use my silliness for good, I'll also learn a lot at FTF.

Meet the Staff!!! Part 3

The third time's the charm! If you don't already want to come work or volunteer at Fantasy Theatre Factory's wonderful office, this edition of Meet the Staff!!! will surely let you know what a wonderful time you're missing out on. It's time to meet Delma, our Grant-Writing Consultant!

"If this is Tuesdy, I must be a parrotfish! On most days, my name is Delma Iles, and on some days I write grants at FTF. Sometimes I do other things like schedule shows in Spanish or eat lunch. I try to match the $$$ to the wacky shows and workshops and make funders smile. There is a lot of jumping through hoops (my dance background comes in handy here), filling out forms, and just plain begging for the precious dollars FTF needs to keep those great shows in front of kids. Outside of FTF, I am the very serious Artistic Director of Momentum Dance Coompany. Parrotfish today, Wicked Witch tomorrow, Astronaut next week! Seriously...SHOW ME THE MONEY!"

Meet the Staff!!! Part 2

It's time for the second installment of our "Meet the Staff!!!" series. Now you super FTF office fans will be introduced to Ed Allen. Enjoy!!

"Hello my name is Ed Allen and I am one of the two people who were crazy enough to start this company thirty years ago. Although I am now over 150 years old (or so our interns think) I still perform in our "Magic Show" and in our "Comedy With a Twist of Lemon" show.

I spend my days here thinking of ways to drive Mimi crazy (she's looking over my shoulder right now), reading all the budgets for our never ending grant applications, grant final reports, grant revisions, payroll, payday, payola, pay for view, pay as you go, etc, etc, etc. It's easy for me because I got my B.A. from FIU, I got my M.A. from the U of M, I got my PhD from M-I-T, my M-I-C, my K-E-Y, my M-O-U-S-E. Not only that but I have a BMW filled with M and M's. When I'm not doing that stuff, I do other stuff like auditioning actors, teaching student showcases, touring the State of Florida in our company van with crazy actors, teaching acting, juggling, or stilt walking. Actually I just reread this and I am too stuffed to go on........."
